Anxiety Light Headed

Light Headed Anxiety Can be Dangerous

There's been times that a feeling of lightheadedness comes on when feeling anxious of worried. An occasional sense of feeling faint or lite headed is probably nothing to be to concerned about. If a pattern is developing however, it's important to be aware that being feeling faint can be a serious illness symptom.

Weird is not a medical term by the way. Don't mistake general dizziness with vertigo. Vertigo is where it seems that the room is spinning around. Diziness, is feeling faint, light headed, almost passing out or losing consciousness.

You can easily distinguous between the two if you understand how vertigo makes someone react. The best way to experience vertigo is to find a soft lawn and spin or twirl around like you probably did when you were a child. Once you do this for several dozen times, sit down, close your eyes and experience the sensation that the world is moving around you. Open your eyes and you may even see things around you moving about. This is vertigo.

Diziness or the feeling of being light headed is NOT this experience. Feeling faint or light-headed is the feeling just before a loss of conscieousness. You may also experience weakness in your muscles and the color of your face may turn pale. With lightheadedness, you end up feeling as if the room is moving away from you and you're fading to black.

While a feeling of general dizziness can be attributed to many medical conditions, anxiety can cause the body to have feelings that it just wants to shut down. If the feeling of being lightheaded passes quickly, you may want to be more aware of the circumstances that may have caused the light head feelings.

A sudden drop in blodd pressure can cause you to become light headed. Here are a few more common reasons that justify checking with your doctor and having a few tests run.

1. Drop in Blood Pressure
2. Medications you may be taking
3. Hyperventilation
4. Low blood sugar
5. Heart Disease
6. Brain conditions
7. Anemia

It's important to be aware of as many of the details leading up to feeling faint. Were you aware of any axiety leading up to being light headed?

The doctor will ask you to describe your dizziness as being light-headed, feeling faint, off-balance, or maybe the room was spinning ie vertigo.

The doctor will ask about any trauma or jerking muscle convulsons, bowel control, etc.

You awareness of any pain, how often the swooning has occurs, is it caused by a function like going to the bathroom etc.
All these things are important to recognize to eliminate diseases and find the cause of you being light headed.

Your feeling may be symptoms of a more serious illness so the value of visiting the doctor is great. Light headed anxiety may be an indicator that you're not dealing with the anxiety related situations in your life. This may suggest that there are other anxiety disorder type of problems developing in your life that need recognized, addressed and treated. It's also possible that this is a pre-cursor to developing panic attacks. Not good.
