Natural Depression Treatments | ||
I think that when it comes down to depression, many of us are simply on our own. The latest drugs work for many as long as we're willing to give up other parts of our lives. One of the biggest negatives using many of the pharmaceutical solutions has been destroying our sex lives. This can bring on other personal problems within our families and we end up trading one problem for another. Here's an Important FACTOID Just 1 of the most popular depression drugs offered by the medical establishment has over 25 possible major side effects. The real news however is that there are also well over 65 physical side effects. And the list didn't include any of the mental or emotional problems the medicine might cause. So let's see: Abdominal pain, Understand that no one is suggesting that you remove yourself from any medications your doctor has prescribed. Still, consider this... If you can take a
A sixteenth-century Swiss chemist named Paracelsus gave us the most basic rule of toxicology: "The dose makes the poison." Practically every substance on earth (including water and Vitamin C) can kill you if it's concentrated enough. So it stands to reason that if you lower the dose, you "may" be able to avoid the most common side effects of the medications given by your doctor. For me personally, I tried Wellbutrin and it worked well but the constipation and bowel issues were just to much to bear. Then it was on to 100mg. of Zoloft and my sex drive was essentially non existent. It was like I traded one set of problems for another. Many natural herbal medicines however, take a lot longer to work but are much less likely to cause side effects. So there's definately a trade off that needs to be made. By going the natural remedy route however I was able to lower the dosage of Zoloft to the point where my sex drive returned to life but I can also control the symptoms of depression. So understand that by using natural vitamins and remedies, I was able to lower the amount of the depression medicine to the point where most of the side effects were gone!
You may find, like I did that after a month or so, you will start to be able to lower the dosage of your prescriptions and still feel under control. Like all medicine however, no natural remedy or pharmaceutical drug will work on everyone all the time. So it's important to continue working with your doctor and psychologist to find the right combination of medicines to take for your situation.
