St. Johns Wort, An Anxiety Disorder, Natural Remedy St. John's wort, also known as Klamath weed, goat weed and hypericumm, with a Latin name of Hypericum perforatum, it's probably one of the most popular natural remedies for the treatment of anxiety disorder symptoms available today. Although there are many other herbal remedies for anxiety, none have as wide a following as St. John's wort.
Here are a few more herbal supplements available that have claimed to be beneficial to the anxiety disorder patient Borage juice: a general tonic that claims to also work as a blood purifier Bugleweed: acts as a mild sedative. California poppy: has claimed fast acting tranquilizing effects Fennel: works to relieve stomach upset and gastrointestinal symptoms caused by anxiety. Very popular in India Feverfew: works on anxiety related headaches and headache pain Ginkgo biloba: improves circulation and thought to be a mood elevator which helps with depression Although these are all herbal remedies, you can also find other natural anxiety remedies that many have used with success. Meadowsweet: Relieves headaches related to anxiety and stress. Mullein: Soothes anxiety. Motherwort: relieves heart pounding Peppermint: Excellent for an upset stomach Verbena: Sedative. Infuse one teaspoon of the herb in one cup of boiling water for fifteen minutes. Note that many of these natural herbal remedies are taken more as a tea. Just the act of making these herbal remedies, and sitting with a warm cup of liquid in your hands can have a soothing, though temporary effect. But natural anxiety remedies are like that. It's the emotional benefits that are important no matter what product or technique is used. Personally, I have used St. John's wort for years after being on pharmaceutical medications such as Zoloft and Wellbutrin. Although not as strong, St. John's wort has worked and allowed me to keep control of my anxiety symptoms. You should really bookmark this site and check back to see what other ideas have been added.
