Traumatic Stress Disorder Can Take Many Forms

Post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD is often associated with wartime action and military veterans. This is an an accurate understanding of this disorder as the condition is not limited to wartime or even people directly involved with the situation.

Tramatic stress is a condition that develops after a life threatening or terrifying event.

Not everyone who is traumatized by an event will develop PTSD. One indicator of the syndrome is that the symptoms typically will last over a month. While many people recover on their own within about six months or so, some continue to have chronic bounce with this tramatic disorder.
